Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March in 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 21st, 2016 she dropped Pho, her first EP on the label Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she began to gain the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music online in the year 2012 when she launched her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she dropped new music through the internet including Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes and from Sweat It Out, July 21st, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to use it together with Rihanna. Her announcement to sign with Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. The singer appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In October 21, 2016, she dropped her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was accompanied by EarthGang. In 2018, Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks by EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on September 5. The 9th of November saw her release two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November, 13 the singer released two new singles entitled The No One as well as Pdigree. She was featured with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16th, and she released the song as a single by herself to the album she released her debut. The song was followed by the music video which debuted on February 20 2019 that surpassed three million views on YouTube in one week. In December of 2018, she was part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
